In most contexts, an American vehicle is a vehicle sold under the name of an American company. Indeed, for the purposes of a new series of GoodCarBadCar.net Best Seller lists, including this very post, American means sold with an American badge; Japanese means sold with a Japanese badge; and European means sold with a European badge. Jaguar isn't an Indian badge, no matter how great Tata's influence.
