The important year-end list is upcoming in just a few moments, but December 2011's U.S. truck sales results deserve just as much attention as any other month.
The Ford F-Series' best month of 2011 made fending off a challenge from General Motors a rather easy task. GMC Sierra sales actually fell slightly, year-over-year, making it hard for the Silverado/Sierra tandem to do any damage to the F-Series' lead, a lead which grew in December. The big Ford finished nearly 4000 sales ahead of the GM twins in December.
America's favourite smaller truck was the Toyota Tacoma. Sales jumped 11% compared with December 2011 and the Tacoma came within 4355 sales of the popular Sierra. As is normally the case, two Toyotas and two Nissans made the list - the other 60% of trucks in America's best-selling trucks table were domestics.
