GM's full-size commercial van duo outsold Ford's full-size tandem, the outgoing E-Series and incoming Transit, by 134 units in August. Ford led the small van category with the Transit Connect, sales of which jumped 27%. The Transit Connect, NV200, and Ram Cargo Van accounted for 21.8% of the category's August volume.
As a result of this August largesse, commercial van sales are up 8% through the first eight months of 2014. Sales in the first half of 2014 were only slightly better than level.
