Commercial Van Sales In America - February 2014 YTD

2014 Ford Transit connect
U.S. commercial van sales rose 3.4% in February 2014 thanks to a huge uptick in GMC Savana volume and despite a significant drop in Ford Transit Connect sales.

USA commercial van sales chart February 2014
The Savana's stay above 2K units is unlikely; Ford Transit Connect sales are likely to increase rapidly now that the new models are arriving at dealers.

48.5% of the commercial-oriented vans sold in the U.S. last month were Fords, another 31.6% came from General Motors.

Ram's new Fiat-based ProMaster outsold the Grand Caravan-based Ram C/V. Nissan and Mercedes-Benz collected 14.5% of the available buyers.

You can click any model name in the tables below to find historical monthly and yearly U.S. auto sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBC's Sales Stats page. This table is sortable, so you can rank commercial vans any which way you like. Suggestions on how GCBC should break down segments can be passed on through the Contact page.

Top 20 Best-Selling Cars In America - February 2014

2013 Nissan Altima red
The Toyota Camry was not the best-selling car in America in February 2014, nor does the Camry lead the way through the first one-sixth of 2014. Nissan Altima sales shot up 11% in difficult conditions in February and it leads the Camry by 1034 units going into March.

Not only was the Altima February's best-selling car in America, it also posted the greatest growth figures among cars in the top 5. As auto sales fell stagnant, Altima volume jumped by more than 3000 units.

The Chevrolet Cruze outsold the Honda Civic in February 2014 but trailed America's favourite compact, the Toyota Corolla. The Cruze also trailed the Ford Fusion (down 14%) as the top-selling Detroit brand car in February. Seven of the 20 top-selling cars in America last month were Detroit brand (or maybe Italian?) nameplates, even with last February's results but up from six in January 2014.

Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling cars can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC's Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well. GoodCarBadCar has already published the list of America's best-selling trucks and best-selling SUVs in February.

2013 Mazda CX-5 blue
For the second consecutive month, and after trailing the leader through much of the second half of 2013, the Ford Escape was America's best-selling SUV/crossover in February 2014.

The Escape wasn't the only utility vehicle to outsell the CR-V, either. Chevrolet Equinox sales grew 4.5%, enough to pip the CR-V by 828 sales.

The Nissan Rogue and Subaru Forester were joined by the Mazda CX-5 as crossovers with massive year-over-year increases in February 2014. The CX-5 was Mazda's top seller as sales of the newer 3 tumbled. Toyota collected significant improvements with the RAV4 and all-new Highlander, as well.

The Escape's lead is tenuous, particularly as we're only one-sixth of the way into 2014 - a portion which wasn't especially fruitful for the U.S. auto industry - and because the Escape hasn't been selling more often this year than it did a year ago. Many of its rivals, from the slow-growing CR-V to the fast-rising Rogue, are doing so.

Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling SUVs and crossovers can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC's Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well. 2014 Ram 1500
U.S. pickup truck sales increased by 198 units in February 2014 as the F-Series reported its best February in eight years and Ram P/U sales shot up 26%, the biggest increase of any full-size truck in America.

Nissan added 3055 Frontier sales to their ledger compared with February 2013 and the small/midsize market, against conventional thought, grew 3.9%.

But full-size trucks rule America. 89% of the pickup trucks sold last month were big'uns. America's big and brash quartet - F-Series, Silverado, Ram, Sierra - owned 83.5% of the market on their own.

You can click any model name in the table below to find historical monthly and yearly U.S. sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBC's Sales Stats page. This table is now sortable, so you can rank pickup trucks any which way you like. February best seller lists for SUVs and cars will be published shortly, as well.
