Large Luxury SUV Sales In America - September 2014 YTD

Cadillac sold more than twice as many Escalades in September 2014 than in September 2013 in the United States. Sales of the regular-wheelbase Escalade jumped 137% to 2290 units. The long-wheelbase ESV was up 94% to 1228.

Sales of the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, meanwhile, have decreased in eleven consecutive months. 

The GL remains tremendously popular, but it can't put up Escalade-like numbers, at least not the kinds of numbers achieved by the two remaining Escalade variants.

Total Mercedes-Benz SUV/crossover sales jumped 17% to 9453 units in September 2014. The GL accounted for 23% of that total, the G-Class another 2%, and the new entry-level GLA another 10%. 

The Escalade family generated 25% of all Cadillac sales in September.
