Large Luxury Car Sales In Canada - February 2014 YTD

2014 Audi A8
In February 2014, the Mercedes-Benz Canada's S-Class outsold the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series, Jaguar XJ, and Porsche Panamera combined. Sales of the S-Class and its CL-Class (soon-to-be S-Class Coupe) offshoot were up 168% in February; up 263% year-to-date.

At this stage last year, the Jaguar XJ was Canada's leading luxury flagship sedan. XJ sales have tumbled 61% in 2014 as sales of the expanding XF range have jumped 69%.

Even the XJ's drastic decline has not made the big Jag Canada's least-favourite big luxury car. The Lexus LS isn't selling as often as the XJ, neither is Audi's A8.

But even the segment-leading S-Class is a tremendously rare car. The Fiat 500L has sold more frequently over the last two months. So is the Acura ILX. And the Subaru Legacy.

You can click any model name in the tables below to find historical monthly and yearly Canadian auto sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBC's Sales Stats page. These tables are now sortable, so you can rank large luxury cars any which way you like. Suggestions on how GCBC should break down segments can be passed on through the Contact page.

GCBC isn't here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts. Sales data for brands such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Rolls-Royce etc. are unfortunately not made available in Canada. Tesla doesn't release a monthly Model S sales report, either. ANDC estimates for Ferrari and Lamborghini were 18 and 4, respectively in February. Total Maserati and Bentley volume is reported, but not by specific models. GoodCarBadCar removed the Audi A7 from this post - still showing it with midsize luxury cars - as its Canadian pricing bears much more resemblance to, for example, the E-Class and 5-Series than it does to the S-Class or 7-Series. Mercedes-Benz's Canadian sales figures join the CLS-Class with the E-Class.
