Large Luxury SUV Sales In Canada - February 2014 YTD

In February 2014, two of the SUVs with the highest base prices in Canada sold at a faster clip than they did in February 2013. But overall, big flagship luxury brand SUVs were down 17% last month despite the big increases from the Range Rover and Lexus LX570.

Mercedes-Benz Canada sold 20 fewer GLs and four fewer G-Class brutes. Infiniti QX80 sales were down by five units. Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV sales slid 12%, or four units, but Cadillac also lost 24 Escalade EXT sales as that Avalanche-based truck disappears. 

Like Cadillac's with the Escalade, Lincoln is currently entering a replacement phase with the Navigator, evidenced by the 85% drop in February, a loss of 44 sales.

But the Navigator's decline isn't a new thing. Sales of the Expedition-based Lincoln - set to be a turbo V6-powered only SUV when the MY2015 model (pictured above) debuts - fell 52% between 2011 and 2013, falling 71% between 2005 and 2013. 

2005 was the last time Ford Canada sold more than 1000 Lincoln Navigators in a single calendar year.
